Dr Bernard M. Ndungu has over 15 years of experience in diagnosing and treating breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gallstones, and thyroid problems.

He has worked as a Faculty Trainer in Laparoscopic Courses in General Surgery at Nairobi Surgical Skills Centre (NSSC) and the College of Surgeons of East, Central and South Africa (COSECSA).

Dr Bernard M. Ndungu is the Founding and current Chairman of the Hernia Society of Kenya (HSK).

He has extensive training in Laparo-endoscopic Digestive (GI/Metabolic) and Hernia surgery locally and in Asia-Pacific, including Singapore and South Korea.

In 2008, Dr Bernard M. Ndungu was awarded the Bassini prize for the best oral presentation at the Asia Pacific Hernia Society Conference.
